The 17th Annual Val Turton Carl Osborne Foundation Intercol Classic Double Header took place on 9th November 2018 at the Mannie Ramjohn StadiumIn the Girls' game, Pleasantville Secondary came up against Fyzabad Anglican Secondary, and won very easily by a margin of 5-nil. Jasandra Joseph was the Pleasantville MVP while Xenell Perrreira earned the MVP title for Fyzabad.
His Worship, the Mayor of San Fernando, Alderman Junia Regrello, was on hand to meet the teams and to perform the ceremonial kick-off for the main event, Presentation College vs Naparima College. Presentation exacted revenge over archrival Naparima College after Naparima had clinched the Championship title from Presentation only a week earlier. Presentation won the game by a margin of 3-1, with Jordel Hospesdales getting the MVP prize for Presentation while Malik Khan got the MVP prize for Naparima.
The Mayor's Trophy for the Best Riddim Section went to Naparima College.
Following the game and after the prizegiving ceremony for the football games, Bursaries of $6,000 each were given to the following students:
· Tiarra Guichard of Penal Secondary
· Lorall Romain of Pleasantville Secondary
· Rondell Payne and Judah St. Louis of Naparima College, and
· Mylz Barrington and Jarod Gordon of Presentation College.
Bursary Awardees, Parents, Teachers and Board Members of the Foundation enjoyed a brief reception in the VIP Lounge of the stadium following the proceedings.
