From its inauguration in 2002, the Val Turton Carl Osborne Foundation has dedicated itself to assisting needy graduating footballers by providing cash bursaries to ease their transition to university or other tertiary level institutions. For the period 2003 to 2015, The Foundation has provided a total of two hundred and eighty-nine thousand dollars ($289,000.00)in bursaries, to fifty-two (52) graduating students drawn from Naparima College, Presentation College San Fernando, St. Mary’s College, Queen’s Royal College, Pleasantville Senior Comprehensive School, Debe High School, Point Fortin Secondary, Vessigny Secondary, and Penal Convent. The Foundation has also been making financial contributions to support the football activities of these schools.

The Foundation has been able to fulfill these commitments through the financial contributions of its members and supporters, and from the funds raised through the staging of three annual events:

1)    Charity Golf Tournament held in May (this year on May 01)

2)    Gala Fundraising Dinner and Awards function held in June, at the Cara Suites Hotel, in Claxton Bay

3)    Premier event; an Annual Double Header Intercol Classic held in October, which features Presentation and Naparima Colleges, as well as two qualifying girls’ teams
